Colossians is a short letter, but it is packed with theology and practical application. In Colossians 1:28-29, Paul states that his job as a minister is to present every man, woman, and child mature in Christ: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.”
The things that happen to us in our lives often don’t make sense to us. Things don’t go according to our plan or according to how we would have told the story. But it all makes sense to God. He is ruling from Heaven. He sees all things exactly as they are and His purpose always prevails.
Through this study of Colossians, Pastor Virgil Hurt shows that to be mature in Christ in this world of pressures, troubles, and temptations means that you must understand first who Christ is and second who you are in Him. If you get those two little things you are on the path of Christian maturity.
